There are many methods for synthesizing spinel-type lithium manganese oxide, mainly including high-temperature solid-phase method, melt infiltration method, microwave synthesis method, sol-gel method, emulsion drying method, co-precipitation method, Pechini method, and hydrothermal synthesis method.
Currently, there are mainly two categories of lithium manganese oxide in the market: Category A refers to materials used for power batteries, characterized mainly by safety and cycle stability. Category B refers to substitutes for mobile phone batteries, characterized mainly by high capacity.
The production of lithium manganese oxide mainly uses EMD and lithium carbonate as raw materials, combined with corresponding additives, and produced through steps such as mixing, calcination, and post-treatment. Considering the characteristics of raw materials and production processes, the production itself is non-toxic and environmentally friendly. It does not produce wastewater or waste gas, and the powder generated during production can be recycled. Therefore, it has no impact on the environment.
Currently, the main indicators for Category A materials are: reversible capacity between 100 and 115, with cycle stability achieving over 500 cycles while maintaining 80% capacity (1C charge and discharge); Category B materials have a higher capacity, generally requiring around 120, but with relatively lower requirements for cycle stability, ranging from 300 to 500 cycles, with a capacity retention rate of over 60%. Of course, there is still a certain price gap between Category A and Category B.
